Sign-ups Now Open!

Sign-ups close August 17th at 11:55 PM UTC. (Countdown | What time is that for me?)

Sign-up Form | AO3 Collection | Tagset | FAQ | Bucket Offers/Requests

If you're new to exchanges, this guide will walk you through signing-up. You can also read this tutorial from AO3. If you have any questions, comment below.

Please note:
  • You may edit your sign-up as much as you want until the deadline.

  • Requests will be visible throughout (and after) sign-ups.

  • Some tags may not appear in the drop-down menu but can still be used by copy and pasting from the tag set itself.

  • If you encounter any problems during your sign up, please let us know ASAP; some recent exchanges have been hit by AO3 bugs.

  • Rule change this round: AO3 limits the number of relationships you can request/offer per fandom to 20. In order to make sure participants can still request/offer up to 20 relationships as well as up to 20 characters in one fandom, you can repeat a fandom once: that is, you can use up to 2 slots for each fandom. You must still have the minimum number of unique fandoms (3 requests and 4 offers). If you repeat a fandom, the tags used must be different: you cannot repeat characters or relationships under the same fandom.

How do I make requests?

Submit a minimum of 3 requests, with a maximum of 10 requests.

For each request, you must select:
  • 1 Fandom

  • 1-20 Relationship(s) and/or Character(s)

  • 1-2 Additional Tags (Fic or Art)
When requesting relationships or characters, you may also choose to select "Any Relationship." (At the bottom of this post, please read: What does "Any Relationship" mean?)

You may choose to request ONE relationship or character twice. However, the second request will not count toward your required minimum. Additionally, the second request must come from a different continuity than the first. (For example, you can request Bucky Barnes/Pepper Potts (or Bucky Barnes & None) from Marvel 616 and from Marvel Noir.), but you cannot request it from Marvel Cinematic Universe and Ant-Man. We will be checking these!)

To request a fandom/relationship/character, begin typing. A drop-down list of available fandoms/relationships/characters will appear. Sometimes, a tag does not appear on the drop-down list. If this happens, you can copy/paste from the tagset. Please note that you can only list fandoms/relationships/characters that appear in the tagset. (You may only request a relationship/character that does not appear on the tagset if choosing "Any Relationship" for a fandom with no nominated relationships or characters.)

Use the Additional Tags field to choose what type of gift you would like to request. You may choose fanart, fanfiction, or both.

Use the Optional Details field to list things such as likes, dislikes, kinks, triggers, prompts, and why you love a fandom, relationship, or character. This field gives your creator what you're hoping to receive.

You may choose to write a Dear Creator letter. Like the Optional Details field, these letters provide additional info for your creator, but letters can be longer. If you write a letter, copy the URL to the space provided on the form. You can also share a link to your letter here.

You may choose to make ONE bucket offer and/or ONE bucket request. If you are not making a bucket offer/request, please leave the "Optional Tags" field empty. Keep reading to learn more about bucket offers and requests and how to make them.

OFFER EXAMPLE

How do I make bucket offers or requests?

A bucket offer/request is a group of fandoms for which you're willing to create/receive a gift for absolutely any of the nominated relationships and characters. We are using bucket offers/requests to improve matchability in this exchange, since the maximum number of fandom requests/offers AO3 permits is 10.

To make a bucket offer or request, list one fandom in the Fandom field, as you would a regular offer or request, then select Any Relationship. In the Optional Tags field, list the rest of the fandoms you're offering or requesting. If making a bucket request, use Optional Details or your linked letter to fill in do-not-wants and prompts for included fandoms. In the Additional Tags field, choose what kind of gift you'd like to offer/request: you can choose fanfiction, fanart, or both.

Spelling and spaces matter, so click the button that says List 778 fandoms and copy/paste your fandoms from the list.

This video also explains bucket offers. Begin viewing at 12 minutes, 30 seconds.

Here is a link to a spreadsheet with a list of bucket offers and requests, as they do not show up on the sign-up summary.

What does "Any Relationship" mean?

You may choose to request/offer Any Relationship. If a fandom has nominated relationships or characters, choosing "Any" only applies to those relationships and characters.

If a fandom has no nominated relationships or characters, choosing "Any" applies to all relationships or characters that meet the guidelines for the exchange.
