Hi! I can't sign up this year, but I am potentially interested in writing something if my work schedule allows, so I have two questions:

(1) Are you planning to allow treating?
(2) Will there be a post (a la Yuletide) where people can post links to their letters?

I see in your rules that whatever we wish to nominate can't have more than 10 complete, English-language fics or no more than 5 contributing authors on AO3. What about fic length though? If a fandom has 6 contributing authors who've published a total of 11 drabbles, does that make said fandom ineligible?

Under the current rules, yes, that fandom would be ineligible. We don’t take into account fic length.

A question about treating: are treats subject to the same minimums as main gifts?

No, there are no minimum requirements for treats. As long as they are for a requested tag, and respect any DNWs the recip expressed, you're good to go.

What if you nominate something that fits within the guidelines but then surpasses the required limits before sign-ups or even during sign-ups?

Can you nominate a background character? For example, could you nominate a 'male townsperson'?

Thanks for asking! The relevant part of the nominations guidelines reads as follows:

Nominations that could apply to several characters (e.g. Jane & Any Vampire) are not permitted. Nominations must be specific as possible.
e.g. if there is only one unnamed male imperial soldier in all of canon, "Jane/Male Imperial Soldier" will be permitted. But if there are several male imperial soldiers in the canon, "Jane/Male Imperial Soldier" will be rejected.

Does this exchange not enforce DNWs? The rules and signup guidelines mention adding them, but I'm not seeing anywhere that mods will step in to arrange a new gift if a DNW is violated.

question on if a ship qualifies

while it has 15 fics under the tag, 4 are one shot drabbles split into chapters and they are probably tagged as background ships as they normally are (they’re the parents of the main group of kids)as the one shot collects seem to be for events.

if those don’t count there are 5 authors writing for them, counting me. even then only two of the fics i haven’t written actually have them as the center of attention,

if not i have other ships/platonic relationships from the same fandom that i know qualify
