We want to thank all of the fantastic people who volunteered as pinch hitters! We couldn't have done this without you!

The archive will open on schedule, at 11:55 AM UTC, about six hours from now. See you soon!

With the pinch hit deadline creeping closer, we realized that one person writing 2,000 words may not be possible. After speaking with these two participants, we've decided to take a different approach:

These pinch hits are now free-for-alls. This means that anyone may write fic of any length and submit it to the main archive. However, the archive will not go live until each of them has received 2,000 words worth of fic.

We have reopened posting to the archive, but please only post pinch hit fills there. (If you wish to post additional gifts, please use the treats archive.)

Please post only finished works, so we know for certain we can count your gift toward the 2,000-word goal.

We'll keep you updated on progress!

First, we want to thank everyone for their patience throughout this exchange. To say it's been a learning experience would be quite the understatement.

Second, we understand that the timeframe for pinch hits is brief. We can offer a little more time, if it helps -- particularly if it helps anyone on the fence.

We have two options we feel might work. Please let us know if either/or work.

(1) We delay archive reveals by 24 hours. Gifts would be revealed on Saturday, November 7th, at 11:55 PM UTC -- middle of the weekend rather than the beginning.

(2) We delay archive reveals by 36 hours. Gifts would be revealed on Sunday, November 8th, at 11:55 AM UTC. That's early, early Sunday morning for US participants. Still gives us most of Sunday, but not an entire weekend.

Again, thanks for your patience. Look for a feedback post after we've done artist/author reveals. We've definitely learned a lot this year!

The assignment deadline has officially passed! The main archive has been closed for posting, but the treats collection will remain open until November 6th. We will be sending pinch hits out tomorrow, so keep an eye out for those.

Writers are required to honor DNWs, but other details are optional. If your letter is locked, now is a good time to unlock it. Now's the time to share what you love about your fandoms and relationships and offer any prompts for stories you've been hankering to read.

The collection has been opened for posting! Additionally, we've created a separate 2015 Fandom Growth Treats Collection. All treats should be posted there.

For those new to fandom gift exchanges, a treat is any art/fic not created by the assigned giver or pinch hitter. The treat does not need to meet any of the exchange requirements, except that it must feature an eligible relationship, and it must respect the recipient's do-not-wants.

This means that fic does not need to be 2,000 words. Additionally, although manips, graphics, edits, etc are not permitted for assignments, they are acceptable for treats.

However, treats must be complete, and like assignments, they must standalone from other works by the giver.

When you're ready to post your assignment:

1. Go to your Assignments page on AO3. (http://archiveofourown.org/users/USERNAME/assignments)


2. Click Fulfill.


3. The archive will automatically select this exchange and your recipient.


4. Once your assignment has been posted, it will be anonymous until reveals. You can continue to edit it until the due date.

If you would like to post a treat:

1. Go to the 2015 Fandom Growth Treats Collection.


2. Under the title, click Post to Collection.


3. Scroll down to the Associations section. You'll see the archive has chosen the treats collection for you.


4. However, you will need choose the recipient. The simplest (and best) way to do so is to copy/paste their username into the Gift this work to field.


5. Once your treat has been posted, it will be anonymous until reveals. You can continue to edit it until the archive goes live on November 6th.
