Nominations Clarifications & Questions - 1

We are continuing to work through nominations, but have decided to put this post up now so that we can deal with some queries.  Please don't worry if your nominations have not been approved yet, but also don't appear here; it just means we haven't got to them yet.

General points

• If nominating individual characters, please use the "Character & None" format, since we are combining all nominations in the relationship field.
• Several currently nominated tags seem to be significantly over the threshold for inclusion in the exchange. Please note that we do not consider fic length in counting existing works, only whether they are complete and in English. If you believe that special circumstances apply to your nominated tag that would otherwise appear to be over, please use the evidence post to explain.

Avalon Code

• Tio - should this be Tia? Also, please use the "& None" format for single characters, as noted above.

Chess

• Frederick Trumper/Florence Vassy - this relationship is tagged in 19 complete works in English

Contact (video game)

• Cherry - in addition to needing "& None", the English name and AO3-canonical name of this character appears to be Terry. If you are the nominator, let us know if you'd like us to change it to a piped version (Cherry | Terry). Otherwise, we'll just change it to the canonical tag on AO3, Terry.

Dishonored (Video Games)

• Billie Lurk & The Outsider - this relationship is tagged in 16 complete works in English, under a slightly different AO3 tag with a piped name for Billie

More Than Enough - Elizabeth Wambheim; Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel

• Any Character & Any Character and Any Character/Any Character - these tags are too broad, please nominate specific relationships

Order of the Stick

• Belkar Bitterleaf/Vaarsuvius - this relationship is tagged in 13 complete works in English.

Persona Series & Persona 3 & Persona 5

• Can these fandoms be merged?

Power Man and Iron Fist (comics)

• Luke Cage/Danny Rand - filtering out non-616 versions, this relationship appears in 20 works; in one it's tagged as a background pairing, but this still leaves it over the limit.

Shingeki no Kyojin | Attack on Titan

• Niccolo/Sasha Blouse - is this meant to be "Nicolo"?

Yoroiden Samurai Troopers | Ronin Warriors

• Shutendouji/Anubis/Naaza/Rajura - Shutendouji and Anubis seem to be two different names for the same character; please explain how this tag is distinct from Anubis/Naaza/Rajura (which has been approved).

I may misunderstand the rules on sub-fandoms but I wasn't trying to nominate under the entire 616? That includes the stretches of time they were in the Avengers and the stretches of time they were angsty in solo books, and aside from qualification issues, I do really just want team-up era. Tagged as PMIF, I counted 3.

(It belatedly occurred to me that perhaps the point of confusion is that Power Man and Iron Fist is the specific title of a book running from 1978-85 and rebooted in 2016. Happy to blather on more about the publication history if it will help.)

ps sorry to have even more problems but I have two noms that show accepted on my dash which are not in the tag set? Idk if bug or you changed your mind or...?

OK, if it is definitely for those specific team-up runs, they're in.

We haven't at this point deliberately deleted anything after accepting it, except in cases where we were fixing errors, but that should still have left a version of that tag in the tag set. For us to be able to investigate further, you'll have to tell us exactly what the tags were.

For the Persona fandoms, I was the Persona 3 nominator and I don't mind if they're merged. The games are mostly separate but technically take place in the same universe, so you can go either way with it really. And the Persona Series nominator seems to want some minor crossover*, so I'm fine with merging them to accommodate that if other people don't mind.

* Aigis, Labrys, and Metis are related, so it's fairly common to put them together in fic, but technically they're not all from the same game -- Aigis appears in Persona 3 and Persona 4 Arena, Metis appears in Persona 3, and Labrys appears in Persona 4 Arena.

Yoroiden Samurai Troopers | Ronin Warriors
Shutendouji/Anubis/Naaza/Rajura - Shutendouji and Anubis seem to be two different names for the same character; please explain how this tag is distinct from Anubis/Naaza/Rajura (which has been approved).

As far as I can tell, Shutendoji was named Anubis in the US dubbing, and Anubis was named Cale, I think? I haven't watched the US version and that's what I gathered checking the YST wiki, but there are four Demon characters, and their Japanese/original names are what I nominated them. AO3 has some of their original names piped with the US names, and that generates further confusion, alas.

Here is the list of the antagonists in the US version, it mentions what each of them were called like in Japan:

I'm a Ronin Warriors fan and, yeah, this is accurate. The character called Anubis in Samurai Troopers and the character called Anubis in Ronin Warriors are not the same individual.
