Mentioning it would still be helpful, but with the new feature we won't need the exhaustive lists of which works are crossovers some people were taking the time to provide last time.

AO3 is inexplicably considering 80s Dynasty and the 2017 CW reboot the same fandom. I couldn't filter them separately but everything posted before summer 2017 is the 80s version, leaving a 2017 count of 7 fics.

About Judy Robinson/Don West -- could you explain why fics tagged with both "Lost in Space (TV)" and "Lost in Space (TV 2018)" should count as crossovers? I'm not familiar with canon.

Additionally, there appear to be 14 fics tagged with "Don West" even after filtering out crossovers.

Hmmn, it depends on the fic but you are right, only one of those looks like a crossover with the 60s canon. I didn't actually realise it was filtering these stories out too. I'm still getting 10 fics after filters for Don West though! That's very weird. But adding back in the non-crossover Lost in Space fics, the count does look to be 14. Sorry. :/

Don/Judy, with Lost in Space fics added back in I still get 10 fics since there are two Star Wars crossovers?

Fandom: Bates Motel

Caleb is listed as a character in 43 Bates Motel fics. 26 of these were written by one author (myself). Of the remaining 17 fics:

- In one he has only one line.
- In one he appears only in a canon scene with no dialogue.
- In three he is only mentioned in the thought process of another character.
- In one he is tagged but it's actually that they gave his same first name to an OC baby.
- In one he is tagged & included but is not related to the protagonist and is basically used as an OC.
- One is a WIP with only two short chapters.

Of the remaining 9, there are 5 separate authors and one orphaned work.

That sounds like there are 6 authors (yourself, plus the authors of the remaining 9), if I'm not mistaken.

Well, also what counts as "main character"? He's only listed first or second on 4 of the ones that aren't by me (and one of those is the one where he has one line).

We do take into account tagging order when determining whether it's a main character, so it does sound like there are only 5 authors. To help us make sure, though, could you give us links to or titles of the ineligible fics?

Something to Hold On To https://archiveofourown.org/works/6914413 - Just mentioned in Dylan's stream of consciousness.

I Hope One Day, We'll Get the Answers https://archiveofourown.org/works/3796516 - Only shows up in a canon scene.

Runs in the Family https://archiveofourown.org/works/4194780 - Tagged second, but in actuality tagged fourth because the relationship is tagged first. It's about Norma and Emma and Caleb doesn't have that much dialogue. (This was a gift for me from a while back and is lovely, by the way! <3)

Norma Louise https://archiveofourown.org/works/3919432 - Unfinished fic where Caleb is there as a child in Norma's flashback, but unclear whether he would be significant in fic overall if the fic does continue.

And everything else is meee :) Of the authors I counted in addition, there's only one fic (Cake & Conversation) where Caleb is first or second tagged. The rest have him tagged fifth or later.

Just so you know for the future, we automatically discount incomplete fic, so some of those that you've listed didn't need to be pointed out.

I counted only 3 authors who indicated through tagging order and their summaries that Caleb was a main character in their fics (yourself, the author of Cake & Conversation, the author of I Want You to Stay) so it's in! Thank you for the links!

I just wanted to let you know, I nominated Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT but it's listed as Dissidia: Final Fantasy. There are great differences between the two games.

I nominated the Year in Hereafter ships, and just thought I'd post the source for finding the characters since some might be tricky to look up:

Sulo Rautio/Justiina - Justiina hasn't been officially introduced in the webcomic yet, but the artist has a sketch and some info on her here.

Siiri Harmonsuo/Kari Harmonsuo - Kari is Siiri's husband, found in the cast page here. (Looking at it again, I noticed the artist had changed some of the character's surnames around from last year. I'll change the name in a bit to Kari Tapio!)

Sampsa & Siiri & Kalevi & Martti Harmonsuo - they are all siblings (photo on page 73.) I included the surname at the end just to save on space.

Joukahainen/Väinämöinen (YiH) and Seppo Ilmarinen/Ahti Lemminkäinen (YiH) - these characters all show up during the flashback story; they're named on pages 313 and 314.

Thanks for being so thorough; these are in now. I've added "(YiH)" to the ones that didn't have it, for consistency, and put the surnames in for each of the Harmonsuo siblings (AO3 tags can go up to 100 characters).

Evidence of Eligibility: Nate/Amaya are a canon ship, and in general if the fic is tagged with another pairing that is actually the main ship, or it is poly not focused on them specifically. I could only find two exceptions. I also found one gen fic in which Nate has a one-line mention. I get a total count of 9.

Evidence of Eligibility: Blubs/Durland are a minor canon pairing and frequently show up as a background pairing in fic because of this. However, of the 25 fics that come up in their tag on AO3, only 7 feature them in more than a background role, and they are only the main characters of 5.

I just wanted to say that for Ame-Comi Girls that "Kara Jor-El" is not a typo. In this universe Jor-El had a daughter instead of a son like in most other universes. She shares a first name with her cousin. Kara Jor-El grows up to be Power Girl and is the cousin of Supergirl in this universe.

Short version: Kara Jor-El is female Kal-El and is Power Girl.
